Will my output image lose its original resolution?
No. ShapeMyImage renders the live preview at a responsive display scale, but exports your final transparent PNG using the exact, full original pixel dimensions of your uploaded source image.
How does alpha transparency work in the downloaded PNG?
The exported file is a genuine 32-bit RGBA PNG. All pixels outside your chosen shape boundary have an alpha value of zero (completely transparent), meaning they seamlessly overlay any background, website, or presentation without ugly white or black borders.
Are my images uploaded or stored on any server?
No. Your privacy is 100% protected. ShapeMyImage does not collect, view, or store your photos. Everything processes securely and directly on your device inside your web browser. Your pictures never leave your hands.
What is smart corner rounding?
Standard tools apply fixed pixel corner radii which look distorted when images differ in size or aspect ratio. ShapeMyImage calculates the corner radius relative to your image's shorter dimension: at 100%, a square becomes a perfect circle, while a landscape or portrait rectangle smoothly becomes a symmetrical capsule/pill shape without corner overlap.
What image formats and file sizes are supported?
ShapeMyImage supports PNG, JPEG, WebP, BMP, GIF (first frame extracted for static PNG output), and SVG (strictly sanitized against embedded scripts). We support files up to 50MB and dimensions up to 12,000 × 12,000 pixels.
